Tanto PortTrace with ETM Support

The Tanto PortTrace for ARM module is an extension module to the Tanto for ARM base module. This extension module enables real-time trace capture for all ARM based target systems with Embedded Trace Macrocell ( ETM ). An ARM specific adapter module (Cable-Driver with Port Link module) connects to the standard Mictor connector of the target trace port.
The trace information allows advanced real-time debugging with filtering capabilities for the program flow and for data analysis.

The following list summarizes some of the technical features

  • Support of the Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM7 and ETM9)
    - with CPU clocks up to 250 MHz
    - with normal and half-rate clock modes
    - with 4- and 8-bit trace port width
  • Trace memory for up to 2 million CPU cycles
  • Support within HiTOP5 IDE for ETM setup and trace display
  • Support of ARM ETM trace capabilities with
    - 2 data comparators
    - 4 address comparators
    - 2 counters
  • Configurable trace information
    - for instruction trace filtering
    - for data trace filtering
    - with time stamp information (7.5ns resolution)
  • Display of trace information in own window with linking to High Level Language source window
  • Forward and backward stepping in trace data
