DProbe430
With its DProbe430 Hitex provides a modular emulation system that is specifically designed to develop, test and optimize MSP430-based applications. Starting with the entry-level system DProbe430, up to the high-end extension DBox16, real time debugging can now be performed at the highest frequencies and with all the power-saving modes without any restrictions. The DProbe430 consists of a base unit and several derivative units. Switching between the derivatives is easy and cost-efficient by simply exchanging the derivative-specific part. This also allows for easy upgrades to future derivatives. Adapters for all available microcontroller packages are offered and provide safe and reliable adaptation to target hardware.
With the modern and easy-to-use HiTOP user interface, all the processor internals and application structures are made transparent. Symbolic high-level language debugging and examination down to assembler code can be performed both to speed up development and to ensure the quality of the application. The system works well together with the assembler and linker from TI and with the C-Compiler tool chain from IAR.

With its features the DProbe430 is much more than an entry-level system. Beside being capable of real-time emulation up to the maximum processor speed of 8MHz and supporting all power saving modes, the emulator comes with 64k of emulation memory, 64k of execution breakpoints (before execution) and 64k of data breakpoints (read / write). The protection logic which detects write accesses to ROM or accesses to non existent memory and the trace buffer which can record 64k processor cycles with address, data and status are helpful features during the development of MSP430 based products. With the optional DBox16 extension, the DProbe430 can be used as a high-end in-circuit emulator.
