Hitex receives embedded AWARD 2008 in the category “tools“
The embedded AWARD 2008 in the category ‚tools’ goes to the STM32-PerformanceStick
At the embedded world 2008 in Nuremberg, Germany, Hitex was honored with the embedded AWARD 2008 in the category “tools“ for their STM32-PerformanceStick. The prestigious award is given every year for pioneering products and developments by an independent jury of experts.
The STM32-PerformanceStick is a complete ready-to-run solution that provides an easy introduction to the features of the new ARM CortexTM-M3 based STM32 microcontrollers. It is especially designed to allow a direct comparison of major performance features of the STM32 and a standard ARM7 TDMI. In particular, the included DashBoard graphical user interface gives a view of the MCU operation under different conditions, enhancing developers’ understanding of important performance parameters including execution speed, power consumption, operation in low-power modes, and code density. Users can modify the STM32 configuration via DashBoard and view the effects of changes while the application is running.
A complete and unlimited tool chain for the STM32-PerformanceStick is provided that includes the professional Altium compiler as well as the HiTOP high-end IDE and debugger. These tools can be used without limitations in conjunction with the STM32-PerformanceStick. Furthermore a wealth of application examples shows the programming and use of the STM32 features. All examples are available with their source code, so that they can be easily used as a basis for own developments.
The STM32-PerformanceStick itself includes an STM32 microcontroller, 128-Kbytes of Flash, and 20-Kbytes of RAM, and plugs directly into the USB port of a host PC for programming and application debugging. An optional I/O board provides access to the STM32 peripherals and an optional prototyping board allows own hardware to be added making the STM32-PerformanceStick an ideal fast prototyping platform. The STM32-PerformanceStick can be ordered directly at the Hitex webshop at www.ehitex.de.
For outstanding on-chip debugging adapted to the STM32’s characteristics Hitex offers the powerful “Tantino for Cortex”. This tool allows – either via JTAG or serial wire debug port – complete run control functionality such as breakpoints, watchpoints and single-step. Also the “Tantino for Cortex” is controlled by HiTOP, the universal IDE and user interface enabling the integration of additional tools such as the efficient Altium compiler. For users familiarized with GNU, Hitex also offers a new Cortex GNU Compiler optimized to support the STM32.
