Tessy and DO-178B
Tessy can be used for low-level testing as required by DO-178B. The low-level requirements can be used as base for the low-level test case specification. This is eased by using the Classification Tree Method respectively the Classification Tree Editor (CTE), which is part of Tessy. Tessy can determine software structural coverage, both branch coverage and MC/DC. The Classification Tree Method is useful for requirements-based low-level testing. Tessy Tool Qualification Information is available on request.
According to DO-178B, section 6.4.1, an excellent test environment includes the software loaded into the target computer … This is possible with Tessy: Tessy allows to execute tests on the target computer (and also on the host).
Tessy was used in DO-178B projects up to level A.
A Tool Qualification Package (TQP) for the qualification of Tessy according to DO-178B exists. More on Tessy Tool Qualification.
A Tessy User Report about a successful test project using Tessy for certification according to DO-178B can be found here.
