STR9 comStick --- Frequently Asked Questions

|< back

Q:
During the driver installation I am asked to search on the Web for drivers. Shall I do this?

A:
No, the drivers are pre-installed on your PC after the STR9-comStick installation. Some Windows XP systems show a dialog to search on the WEB for the driver. Please click on No, not this time and in the next dialog click on Search automatically. This will install the pre-installed drivers for the STR9-comStick correctly.
Since three drivers are to be installed, this will occur three times (for JTAG, for COM and as virtual COM port).

Q:
The enumeration of the USB port of the stick reports an error.

A:
With some Windows installations the enumeration of the USB with the USB application reports an error during installation. Close the STR9-comStickView GUI and disconnect the USB connector from the stick and disconnect the stick from the PC's USB port. Insert the stick once again and start the STR9-comStickView GUI. Enable the USB and re-connect the USB connector of the stick to the PC. Then the USB application will be enumerated correctly as HID client.
