ST extends STM32L4 series of ultra-low-power MCUs

ST introduces the STM32L49x family of Cortex-M4 microcontrollers, with many new features including FlexPowerControl, LCD and camera interfaces.

The STM32L496xx devices are the ultra-low-power microcontrollers based on the high-performance ARM® Cortex®-M4 32-bit RISC core operating at a frequency of up to 80 MHz. The Cortex-M4 core features a Floating point unit (FPU) single precision which supports all ARM single-precision data-processing instructions and data types. It also implements a full set of DSP instructions and a memory protection unit (MPU) which enhances application security.

Mark Newbery is the Field Application Engineer for Semiconductors & Wireless Modules covering the ST franchise. Mark Graduated from the University of Exeter with a 1st Class Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering. Since graduating he has worked in a variety of roles focussing on low power consumption and telematics. He is passionate about new technologies and driving new ideas forward.
