Hitex ShieldBuddy controls Infineon Sub1 Reloaded

Where AURIX™ microcontrollers are part of an embedded application, then our Hitex ShieldBuddy TC275 will not be far away. This was also the case when Infineon’s Sub1 Reloaded robot solved Rubik’s cube in just 637 thousandths of a second at this year’s electronica trade fair. Hitex is very proud that Infineon developer Albert Beer has used our ShieldBuddy TC275 to control the robot and thereby underligned the outstanding performance of it. “Primary ShieldBuddy has been controlling the robot’s execution of the solution. It receives the solution from a laptop and is controlling the stepper motor end phases. It is important that the µC board is fast enough to trigger pulses at the correct point of time”, says Albert Beer.

The high-performace AURIX™ microcontroller family is used in driver assistance systems. And their minimal reaction times play an even greater role in autonomous driving. A high data-processing rate is necessary to ensure real-time capabilities with clock frequencies of 200 MHz. To meet the challenging safety requirements in the field of autonomous driving as eg. ISO 26262 ASIL-D the microcontroller is equipped with a lockstep architecture combined with safety features.
