Robustness of a test object

Robustness of a test object is the (gradual) property of a test object to react meaningfully to extraordinary inputs. Exceptional inputs are those for which the behavior of the test object is not defined by the specification. Therefore, robustness cannot be tested by requirements-based tests. However, more or less randomly generated test input data can be used to determine the degree of robustness. This dynamic test procedure is also known as fuzzing.
