Dynamic software tests

This training teaches you how to design and execute unit tests for test objects using TESSY. Theory and practice will alternate throughout the course, allowing you to apply what you've learned in a hands-on environment. This training is designed for beginners, so no prior knowledge is required. Our experienced trainers will guide you through the training step by step and will be available to answer any questions you may have.

Training contents:

1) Introduction to Unit Test and TESSY 4

  • Setup of projects and test environments
  • Applying of the test objects, interface of the test object
  • Test data stimuli and import/export to Excel
  • Test runs and analysis of test results with generating test reports
  • Regression tests

2) Practical Knowledge

  • Handling of pointers and critical test objects (e.g. endless loops)
  • Function calls (Call Trace)
  • Mutation Tests, Code Coverage, Fault Injection
  • User-Code (C-code) for supporting analysis of external test data (Eval-Macros)
  • Test case specification according to the Classification Tree Method (CTM)

3) Deep Dive

  • Testing of software variants
  • Integration testing and component testing

Technical Requirements:

  • Laptop for practical exercises with Win7/8/10/11, 64-bit system, 2GB RAM, 1GB free hard disk space and current TESSY version
  • Basic knowledge of programming in C
  • We recommend: Two monitors, one for your own work and a second that shows the training contents in parallel
