We are taking the anniversary year 2026 as an opportunity to look back, appreciate today and look ahead. What has shaped us over five decades? What defines us today as a partner for embedded development? And where are we heading in the future of embedded systems and AI integration?
You can look forward to an anniversary year that will bring the entire spectrum of our 50-year history in embedded development to life. Over the course of 2026, you can expect exclusive interviews with one of our first Managing Directors Peter Santel, and perspectives from our Managing Director Jörg Stender on the future of embedded technology. We will shed light on how long-standing partnerships with companies, universities, semiconductor manufacturers and our commitment to professional development through training have made Hitex what we are today. Experience technological milestones from five decades of embedded development and discover how innovation, know-how transfer and technological excellence characterize our DNA.
On July 20, 1976, Hitex was entered in the commercial register - the starting signal for five decades of embedded excellence. Since 1976, we have accompanied the evolution of embedded systems: from the first 8-bit microcontrollers to modern debugging tools and AI-supported development. As a specialist in embedded development tools, debugging solutions and professional training, we have not only witnessed the development of embedded technology, but have actively helped to shape it.
Peter Santel (former Managing Director) and Roland Bickel (Head of Marketing) look back on the company’s early years. They revisit a time of punched tape and teletypes, when programming started directly on bare hardware, and explain how debugging worked back then. The interview also covers why in-circuit emulators (ICE) became a key tool, how the Teletest family evolved from 8-bit processors (8080/8085, Z80) to 16-bit systems, and how the collaboration with Reinhard Keil (Arm) began. A personal perspective on the roots of embedded engineering, and the foundations of modern development tools. (English subtitles available)
Here on this page and on LinkedIn we will keep you up to date on all anniversary activities. The articles will be added to gradually - it is worth checking back regularly and becoming part of our 50-year success story.
Visit us at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg. As usual in Hall 4, Stand 205 - and experience our 50th anniversary live at a booth that celebrates five decades of embedded excellence.
50 years of embedded excellence - and the most exciting chapters are still ahead of us.
