ESE compact seminar: The Cyber Resilience Act in practice

The Cyber Resilience Act in practice - Real implementation of security on Armv8-M architecture

Our colleague and Teamleader Applications Stefan Grohmann will show in a 3 hours compact seminar a real implementation of security on Armv8-M architecture on site.
Cybersecurity plays a crucial role in modern embedded systems. As requirements increase, so does the need to efficiently implement secure applications. This seminar will provide you with the necessary knowledge and tools to meet these challenges. Practical examples will be used to provide a basic understanding of topics such as TrustZone, Trusted Firmware, Bootloader, and other relevant aspects. Additionally, we will examine the importance of individual steps in the development process for creating secure applications in more detail.

Learn:
- How to implement current security requirements and ensure data security in embedded systems.
- Get to know Arm TrustZone and see how it is implemented in practice using real examples.
- Learn how to adapt existing development processes to cybersecurity requirements.

ESE 2025 Presentation

SIL4 tests during development: maximizing safety and efficiency - practical experience

In his presentation, our colleague and Senior Account Manager Michael Weiß will provide a comprehensive overview of a successful SIL4 project (Safety Integrity Level 4) for developing and verifying a safe control board for railroad applications. This project complies with strict EN 5012x/CENELEC standards, ensuring maximum safety and reliability.
The focus was on testing and verification processes supported by a robust framework and modern tools, such as an Eclipse-based platform, Gradle automation, and model-based frameworks (e.g., eTrice). Continuous integration (CI) and extensive tracing and logging tools played a central role.
The project included approximately 150 system requirements, 300 software requirements, and 500 test requirements, considering both positive and negative tests. The developers placed equal emphasis on specifications, implementation, documentation, and verification, ensuring success.
A key outcome was the successful development of a SIL4-compliant control board supported by rigorous testing and verification processes. The presentation will also highlight collaboration with TÜV throughout the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with all safety and legal requirements.
