Hitex at the Embedded Software Engineering Congress (ESE)

Embedded Systems Engineering Kongress
Embedded Systems Engineering Congress: We'll be there! Will you?

The ESE Congress is known as the leading congress for the embedded software industry in Germany. As a long-standing participant, Hitex will once again be present this year to showcase the latest technologies alongside industry experts and discuss future trends in embedded software development.

Over the course of the event, there will be many different presentations and seminars on various software engineering topics like current safety and security compliance, AI implementation, mobility and many more!

Meet us at the Hitex booth! We also hold two presentations during the event.

Friday, November 27, 2026 – Preconference Presentation at 11 AM

Michael Weiß will hold a presentation during the preconference on November 27 at 11 AM:

Reducing Time-to-Market: Control Modules for Evaluation, Development, HIL, and Production Use
Accelerating hardware and software development with SO-DIMM control modules and safety controllers

Many embedded projects start with evaluation boards or custom-designed hardware platforms. As projects evolve, however, gaps often emerge between evaluation, prototyping, and final product deployment. In projects that must comply with standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or CENELEC, these transitions can result in significant additional effort. Reuse of development results is often limited, and hardware and software teams repeatedly have to adapt to new platforms throughout the project lifecycle.

The alternative approach: Control Modules built around a common form factor. This presentation demonstrates how SO-DIMM Control Modules can support different phases of product development, highlighting the technical and organizational benefits of this approach.

Eranyan Ravanan will hold a talk at 4:35 PM (Kleiner Saal):

Portable, Safety-Ready Software for Heterogeneous RISC-V Use
A practical approach to overcoming ISA fragmentation

RISC-V is gaining real traction in embedded and industrial systems since the open ISA gives embedded software development teams the freedom to design.

However, that same flexibility creates a practical headache: Implementations differ enough across vendors that software written for one platform often needs significant rework before it runs reliably on another. For safety-critical applications, that variability creates a second problem, because traceability and certification processes depend on the level of consistency that fragmented hardware stacks make difficult to achieve. This presentation explores how to design software architecture for RISC-V that stays portable across different implementations without sacrificing determinism or making safety analysis harder.
