The animal shelter in Karlsruhe - Tierschutzverein Karlsruhe und Umgebung e.V. - has been in existence for around 200 years and was established 100 years ago in Karlsruhe, Daxlanden near the Rhine port to provide a home for animals that currently have no home. They have about 180 animals, of which there are always about 50 dogs, 40 cats and then many small animals, exotics, amphibians and reptiles. All employees have the opportunity to make a donation. The management will then increase the amount.
There are many ways to get involved, such as walking the dogs. Or petting the cats. Or do manual work - as an individual or as a company.
Or you can sponsor an animal and help a specific animal. You will receive a certificate with a picture of the animal you are sponsoring - this is also a great gift idea.
They are funded almost entirely by donations. Although they are the official contract management center for neglected animals in the district of Karlsruhe and for found animals. Nevertheless, they are a private association and depend on material donations.
